Principal's Report

Dear Families,

YEAR 3/4 CAMP

Year 3/4 students are having a fantastic time down here at Forest Lodge. For so many this is their first time away, facing challenges and building resilience in many different ways. Families should be so proud of the students for pushing themselves and making the most of the opportunities presented. After many, many activities and adventures, they will be so excited to return tomorrow and share all the wonderful stories and achievements from their time away. Well done all students and thank you to all staff who have worked tirelessly and volunteered their time to make this happen.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS MORNING TEA

As a special show of appreciation, the staff would like to welcome any parents/carers who have volunteered throughout the year. Whether as a classroom helper, or volunteer at excursions/camps/events, we are so grateful for all of our supportive parent community. The morning tea will be at 11am, Wednesday 4th December in the staffroom.

ASSEMBLY

Please note that there will be no assembly this week with 3/4 camp. We do, however, look forward to students performing at the following assembly. As always, families are welcome to attend:

·       Week 8 (FRIDAY 29th November): 1/2s and 5/6s

·       Week 10 (FRIDAY 13th December): Prep and 3/4s

2025 BOOK PACKS

Book Packs are now open for orders direct through Kookaburra via the instructions sent out on Compass. Orders placed by 8th December will be delivered to the school in time for Term 1; late orders will incur a delivery fee and be sent directly to your home. Teachers have carefully curated these packs to keep costs down, providing essential resources for students. As per Department regulations, the 2025 Schools Savings Bonus ($400) cannot be used for Book Packs or Voluntary Contributions, but can go toward camps, excursions, and uniforms. Thank you for your support!

Preps - Monster Collages

Using either warm or cool colours, Preps painted with acrylic paints on paper. To make a symmetrical monster, Preps folded their painting in half and on the folded side sketched an outline of a head, body and legs of their monster. Preps cut out different shapes to create eyes, mouth and body parts. At the end of this activity, Preps could name their monster using cut out letters. They look fantastic!

Thank you,

Michelle Bishop

Notice Board

The Junior School Council have organised a PJ Day.

Students, teachers and even parents at drop off or pick up, are invited to wear their favourite PJ’s to school. All coins donated will go to Story Dogs. A big thank you to Liz and Sally, our Story Dogs team at Wallington Primary School.

Story Dogs enables a child and a dog with their volunteer handler a weekly one-on-one reading session held at the child’s reading level throughout the course of a school year. The literacy program is based on the Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) model.
